Plain-English terms for renting or buying a domain through SI Launch Pad.

How renting works

You pay the listed monthly rate in advance for the domain you're renting. Renting has a 3-month minimum term. During the rental, we point the domain's DNS wherever you want within one business day, and you use the domain as your own. While your rental is active, the domain is exclusively yours to use — we won't re-point its DNS, list it for sale, or re-rent it to anyone else until the rental ends or you exercise the buyout below.

After the minimum term

Once the 3-month minimum is met, the rental continues month to month until either side ends it with 30 days' written notice.

Buyout

At any point during an active rental, you may buy the domain outright for the purchase price fixed at your rental's Start Date — 30 times the monthly rent rate you started at, even if our listed rent or purchase price changes later. Monthly payments already made do not count toward the purchase price unless we agree otherwise in writing. Once a rental ends, the buyout option ends with it; the domain may be re-rented or sold to someone else. To exercise the buyout, tell us in writing through the inquiry form on the domain's page; any registrar transfer fee and any tax due on the sale are the buyer's responsibility.

Buying outright

You don't have to rent first — every name can also be bought outright directly, at the purchase price shown on its page. "Ownership transfers once payment clears" means an actual registrar transfer: we initiate the move (an EPP/auth-code push, or the registrar's equivalent) so the domain lands in a registrar account you control — we don't keep buyers in a continued custodial arrangement after a purchase.

Making an offer

We don't consider a purchase offer below half of the listed purchase price. There's no such floor on a rental inquiry — tell us what you're looking for.

How payment works

Rent is invoiced monthly in advance. For an outright purchase, we invoice directly or, if you'd rather use a neutral third party for a purchase that size, we're glad to close through an escrow service such as escrow.com instead. Either way, we aim to reply to a new inquiry within 1 business day with next steps.

Registration and verifying control

We register and renew every listed domain through Porkbun for as long as it's in the catalogue. If you'd like us to confirm that before committing to a rental or purchase, ask through the inquiry form and we'll show you.

Non-payment and acceptable use

If a rental payment is missed, we'll reach out and allow a short cure period before suspending the rental; continued non-payment ends the rental and the domain returns to the catalogue. We may suspend a rental immediately, without a cure period, for illegal or abusive use of the domain — including phishing, spam, or infringing someone else's trademark.

What's included

A rental or purchase covers the domain name itself. It does not include web hosting, email hosting, design, or content — you point the domain at infrastructure you already have or set up separately.
